I travel quite a bit for work and training consistently can be a bit of a challenge. I’ve spent a few weeks in Tempe and came across AZ Combat Sports and decided to give them a shot. I’ve dropped in about 10 times over the last month or so and have enjoyed it more and more each time. It’s a large school with tons of classes in BJJ, Muay Thai, boxing and MMA. It has a community feel. Everyone is super friendly and passionate about training. I’ve experienced zero ego. I highly recommend AZ Combat Sports from anyone wanting to train at a quality gym that takes martial arts seriously.

I've trained at this gym for four years doing BJJ and I can't recommend it enough, Trevor, Steve, and Johnny are excellent grappling coaches with incredible passion and expertise in the sport. The environment is welcoming and the facility is very clean. From the first day I walked in to four years later I have been able to work with amazing training partners and always improve my skills. From beginners to pro mma fighters, ACS has it all. 5 Stars!

I've trained at the gym for about three months now. In my limited experience with Arizona Combat Sports, I can say their experience and passion for training speaks for itself. Take the time to stop by and you'll understand what I mean. The knowledge and energy of the instructors plays a huge role in keeping patrons like me returning again and again. And because there are a broad variety of visitors, you can gain experience training with different body types and levels -- the bonus is you also get to meet some cool people, too.

This place is the best. As someone who walked in with 0 previous experience in anything combat related, the coaches here are great at showing the do’s and dont’s. I wife highley recommend for anyone with or without experience

My 11 year old son and I trained here this week while in town visiting family. This place is incredible. It’s a huge facility with a lot of classes and great coaches. My son did the Muay Thai classes and some Jiu Jitsu. I did the NoGi Jiu Jitsu and submission wrestling. Johnny and Nathan are really solid jiu jitsu coaches. Trevor’s submission wrestling was a lot of fun and easy to understand for someone like me who has done a lot of Jiu Jitsu but very little wrestling. There are a few things that really stood out to me and motivated me to write a review; I never do reviews… 1 - This gym is full of absolute killers but the culture is not all ego driven tough guys trying to kill the new guy. They were all super friendly and a lot of fun to train with 2 - My son outs only 11 years old but pretty big for his age. They let him jump in with the adult Muay Thai Fundamentals class and treated him really well. My son came to the NoGi open mat and was a bit nervous because he was so young but a bunch of the guys in there rolled with him, showed/helped him with his moves and were extremely patient with him. All around great experience at AZ Combat Sports. Will definitely be training here whenever I am in the area. Thanks to the whole crew there!

I have a lot of experience in multiple disciplines; I've never trained somewhere with sooooo many fighters in one place that are fierce yet humble. Every class is inspiring and everything they teach works and is proven. An honor, truly.
